What New Years Resolution??

I know its LATE for me to post anything about the upcoming NYE (Dec. 31st) and I have heard people time after time, talk about what they want to do as a New Year's Resolution EVERY YEAR and only to find out that they break it within a few months, weeks, and even days!  So from me to you, here is my advice to take in for the New Year:

- Let old BS go.  Whatever grudge you had over the past years, let it go.  It's not worth it!

- Be true to yourself and true to others.  If they can't stand the truth, then its time to pick a different crowd.

- Its ok to spoil yourself!!

- Put God first; he is the only one who will not judge you, and yet the only one that will love you unconditionally.

- Be a role model to the younger generation; they need GUIDANCE and a LEADER right now in this day and age.

Thanks for those who have kept up with my blog throughout 2010 and I will be looking forward to writing more in 2011!!  Toast!

Do you have a boner? O_O

Ok this has to be the most awkward thing to happen to me this year. So please follow this story and laugh to your hearts content:

So at my place of employment, this older lady came in to get a Christmas card she designed copied on card stock.  So here is the conversation that occurred as she was trying to fold the card I reproduced.

Me:  So is there anything else I can help you with?

Lady:  Not right now, because I'm trying to fold this card stock right and I'm having issues with it.

Me:  I can try to fold it for you if you like?

Lady:  Well, do you have a boner?

Me: Excuse me what was that?? o_O

Now I mean it caught me when she asked for a boner.  I mean I seriously nonchalantly looked at my crotch to see if I had some type of erectile function going on in front of her!!  I mean she explained it to me what this "boner"  was and I found there is an item called a folding bone, or boner, that can fold card stock cleanly and sharply.  But just the fact that she asked me for a boner was enough to have me laughing in tears after she left the store.  That HAS to be the funniest thing to happen to me this year, well not really..but I will save that one for another post...

Inspirational Spoken Words

I know there are some things in life that you can't control and you feel overwhelmed.   So someone past this phrase to me that I would like to share to you.

"When life gives you a hundred reasons to CRY show life a thousand reasons to SMILE..."

I love that quote...

From my fellow readers!! ^_^

I posted a blog about handwashing and I wanted to share this because I have experienced this as well.

Yes Mannie I do. I was at Kroger one day and headed up the isle. This woman starts hackin up a lung. I mean seriously coughing. I look over at her and she is leaned over the meat chest..u know the open topped kind...hacking away while leaned over it. She never once turned around or covered her mouth. NASTY. Then I go to the next isle and before long I hear her coughing into the dang freezer..I mean OMG really?

Handwashing Please!!

I wish people learn basic stuff they were taught at home, school, church where ever!

Today I was out at Wally-World (Wal-Mart if you don't know what I mean) and I had to use the restroom.  The restroom was pack, not trying to count I would say about 5.  Out of those people that left the restroom, didn't wash their hands!! O_o

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!  I can say that I'm not a hygienist or any type of doctor, but clearly people, these people didn't wash their hands!!  Even if you are leaving the store, please wash your hands.  Because I never know if you are going back on the floor and grabbing vegetables and fruit from the produce area, or touching the WHATEVER IS IN THE STORE.  So do you have any horror stories similar to this?  Leave a comment below and share your stories with the world!

Veteran's Day

Today we celebrate those who served in the military past and present and give thanks for those who are serving in Afghanistan, Iraq, and various bases around the world and here in the United States.  From this blogger, I thank you for all you have done.

If you see someone in uniform, give them a handshake, hug, or maybe just a simple thank you to let them know that you care and appreciate all they have done.

Why I'm not surprised....

Constantly, I have been hearing reports about the allegations against Auburn QB Cameron Newton and the charges of academic cheating while he attended University of Florida and the so-called "Pay to Play" in MSU in 2009. To be honest with you and in my honest opinion, it doesn't surprise me, especially with the past and present scandals.  There has been quite a few scandals in the recent years, so why should we be surprised when ESPN or Yahoo Sports announced that this player for this university took money from this guy and had excessive gifts....ITS NOT GOING TO STOP!!  In my honest opinion, I feel that the universities thrive to bring these high profiled players into their schools, and for what reasons:  to make their football program great and thinking they can get away with it.

In the past, I was listening to "Mike & Mike Show" on ESPN Radio stating that there has been countless stories of "certain players" riding around in vehicles WAY past their dorm room budgets, jewelry, clothing and shoes, out of the blue!! It makes me wonder about with all the allegations of how the universities take this.  Deep down inside of me, I feel that they look at this as a business deal gone bad.  This is how I look at it(excuse the reference!!):

Player A a rated 5 star high school football player is watched by this Large University.

Player A wants to play close to home which you can't him because that where he has been all his life.

Player A is enticed by the "offers" that Large University has to offer, baits it, and commits to LU.

Player A gets a little flashy with his gifts, the school get investigated, LU gets caught with violations, get suspension.

LU DENIES ANY INVOLVEMENT OF THE ALLEGATIONS, saying they knew SOMETHINGS, but won't fully confess.

So why shouldn't America lose sleep because of the allegations?  Because IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN!!  Unless this situation is governed by someone other than the NCAA, it will happen again.  And we honestly can't sit this situation on the shoulder of the parent(s), because I can bet that majority of these players are from a one or two parent household that were living paycheck to paycheck (not trying to be bias or anything because I grew up inside a single parent household).  So any reason of doubt that you have believing that these universities had any involvement in the allegations, maybe you should think twice and look at this from a whole different perspective, because I feel that the universities look at this as a bad business deal gone bad.

Mom and Technology don't mix well...... T_T

Before I go on a tantrum about my mother, let me just say that I love her dearly and I would not replace her for anything; but technology and her do not mix well.  Its like trying to mix oil and water together, hoping for that mixture to dissolve in one fix but it never works out.  I can say at of today I have done this for her:

 - Hooked her surround system up.  She doesn't know how to hook "this wire" to "this speaker".  Then she complains about why I am using the RGB cords than the standard RYW cords, everything is too complicated.

 - Installed her computer and printer NUMEROUS times including reformatting the damn thing because of a nasty worm she got.

 - Installing her printer, which was wireless, then got into an argument because she feels that because its wireless that I shouldn't have to hook the printer up to the computer..

I'm SO tempted to create an invoice and give it to her in a nicely concealed envelope, but then I believe that will make things worse.

Life

I'm sitting here thinking about life & how crazy it is at times.  Here we sit with this breathe of life we were given to us and its amazes me how sometimes it can be taken from us so quickly.  Today my friend lost 2 relatives in ONE WEEK!  Can you believe that?  But its all in "God's plan", that what some people say, but does it make it fair?  No matter how much we know that they are in a better place where there's no sorrow, no pain, no heartaches, it still painful to let someone go who is close to you.

On December 14, 2006 I lost the most precious thing to me in this world, and that was my grandfather.  Hell I wouldn't even call him my grandfather because he was not a grandfather to me, but more of my own father.  I never had the pleasure of growing up with a father in my life except for Mr. Rudolph Sutton, Jr. I never thought of losing him so soon, especially when I was just over his house hooking up his surround system ( funny story because he hooked it up backwards ^__^ and was confused when I got it back up and running, he was proud that it worked).  My world just shut down, and I didn't know what else to do.  But death is inevitable; there is no way to stop or delay the inevitable.

So for those who has a parent, sibling friend, significant other, boy/girlfriend dealing with a passing in their lives; do what you can to support them.  There is nothing wrong with showing your full support in their time of need.  Because death is felt no matter how close or how far apart they may be.

Tree Drama

I can recall the days of my youthful frame; skinny, wild, able to do anything from backflipping off the porch to jumping off the roof of my Grandfather garage.  And today was one of those day in which I missed those days.

Ok here is the scenario:  Got a new airplane today and was enjoying my new little toy.  Plane gets stuck in the tree (and not in the middle part where I can use a broom to get it down, but high part of the tree).  So I am looking at the two trees that are almost connecting together, thinking to myself "I should be able to do this!" (and you KNOW this is a bad ideal because this is about 15 years later since I have climbed a tree).  So I climed up this huge branch of the tree and my footing slipped and I paid the price for trying to climb a tree (not to mention my pride....).

So what can I say, today was those days.....

P.S. Scratches burn like hell!

Poll...

Thank you for those who were willing to take the time to answer the poll about your preference of music! Race shouldn't be a factor of what music you enjoy. Just be who you are and being who you are should only matter to numeral uno. There will be a new poll up this afternoon!

First Day of Spring!!

Trees budding, flowers blooming, warm breezes..... its spring time!

Today, March 20th, marks the first day of Spring; however its not spring everywhere just yet. Yesterday in the Toledo area, it was a warm 68 degrees! And its a complete turnaround today, with it being about 45 degrees. Well what can I say; I am patient. I can't wait until the warm weather! Last September had to be the coldest I can remember in the NW Ohio area. And to deal with all the snow we had, I shouldn't complain about the fluctuation of the weather right now. But in all, spring is here and let us receive it with open arms.

P.S. BTW; Geocaching will be my new activity now so be prepared!

"The Imperfections of Being Human"

Perfection - noun - The State of being perfect; freedom from fault or defect.

By looking into this word, there are things in life we can quote the word "perfection" or "perfect": the perfect dress, the perfect dish, the perfect time of day. Using that word can describe what is "perfect" in our hearts. Because in our hearts, there is no fault in what we perceive in life at that moment in time. But what about us; the homo sapian? Should we perceive to be perfect race?

I can honestly say that in my lifetime, there was only one perfect person in life and that was years ago (will keep this blog from being a religious episode for some). We all have faults in our life. Our emotions are not perfect, for instance. Jealousy, rage, insecurity, apathy, grief, fear, hatred, shame, blame, regret, resentment, anger, and hostility; these are a few of emotions that make up the "imperfect human." There is no way getting around how we feel or who we are, its just a part of being human.

Our lives are imperfect as well. We can have a 4-year plan on what we want to achieve in life, but does that really happen? We have bumps here and there, hills and mountains to climb; so there is no live a perfect life. We can seem to have the perfect job or career, but how long will that last until you have problems or situations that are unbearable? Rising unemployment and liquidations is upon us at an all-time high, and although we are officially out of the recession (it makes me wonder if we ever left the recession we had YEARS ago), depending on our career is consider imperfect because of what could happen in our "imperfect" economy.

Relationships are not perfect. If they were, this would be a boring world! We come into a relationship accepting the "imperfections" of our significant other. There is a laundry list of things I could say about my past relationship that made them "imperfect" but I loved them for who they were. And some people say love is imperfect. Why? Because sometimes love is blind for those who where hurt by someone they didn't seem to be the "perfect ideal of husband/wifey-material".

So how can we live in a "imperfect world"? Because we learn to adapt to what is around us. Living in a "imperfect life" helps us to adapt to change, adapt to what is around us, and to approach "imperfections" with some type of foundations towards "perfection". By adapting to imperfections, will make us wise, stronger, and a sense of accomplishment because we took a imperfect situation and sometimes into a feasible goal.

In conclusion, being human is being imperfect. There isn't anything we can do to make us perfect because it will never happen. We must take our imperfections and learn to live with it. Be who you are and be proud of your imperfections. Nobody isn't perfect in this world; because I know I'm not...

Dear Team USA

Because of you I am now a hockey fan.

Although you came home with the silver, you are still champs in the minds of Americans.

Great game! USA! USA! USA!

Hey USA Men's Basketball team, don't drop the ball this year at the World Championships...

New Logo and color

I am currently working on a new logo and a new scheme color for this blog, so if you have any ideals, feel free to drop a few comments on what you think I should do. Thanx!! ^_^

This is what I represent..

I just love this shirt......

At it again...

You know something, I wish I was off from work today...

Plain and simple...

But ya know you can't always have what you want, unless you own some stock, have pretty much millions of dollars, and have then you have every right to sit on your ass and be lazy. I know I would. At work we always talked about how when co-workers put in two or three dollars to play the Mega Millions when the jackpot gets huge and they would win, and what we would do if it was us. Knowing me I would walk up to my job with my check in hand, strip to a speedo and then do the D-Generation chop crotch to every customer in there ^_^. But that wouldn't be nice would it? I can tell you that I have been working since I was 16, I have made over at least $250,000 or more; and have no show for it. Now its the time I need to concentrate on saving money to retire on instead of waiting for that big money to happen. So if we want this to happen we must make something happen. We must live for the moment and seize it instead of waiting for it to flop on our laps. My message to those, grab what you want NOW, and don't wait; because you never know when that boat will sail right pass you.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it....grrrr what am I kidding!!

So tired of snow right now....

This picture was taken during our last snow storm in Northwest Ohio but yet I got this urge to just tell Mother Nature to STOP IT NOW!!! We are approaching March and I can't wait until the first day of Spring. I can't tell you that how much I missed the warm summer. This past summer and fall were probably the coolest I have ever experienced all my life. I'm not complaining because usually our summers are just plain hot and muggy, but as of right now I sure do miss it. Instead of being inside of the house right now, I could be doing a lot of things. I could be going for a nice ride, I want to buy a motorcycle and enjoy the warm breeze passing by me. But yet right now its cold and snowy; and we are not the only state that had snow this year (according to statistics, 49 out of 50 states got snow this year....). So when the first day of spring I will be happy to enjoy at least some good warm weather, but as every year we do have our annual spring snowstorm. Don't want to sound negative; but believe me I can't wait for some nice warm sunny weather.

I'll take ya to the candy shop

I am in love with this store. **drool**

In the Glass City, there is a store in my neighborhood that I visit frequently, called Boyd's Retro Candy Store. And I can tell you that will be a "kid in a candy store". I have found so many fond memories of various types of delicious candy that can't be found NO WHERE... Well I might be exaggerating, but what are the odds of finding a candy store with pretty much EVERYTHING you can think of?

If you would like to check out this beautiful store and all of is glory, check out the website:

Sigh.....

You see this sad face? This face represents all of the men and women in America today. There is a realization that we must face right now. Sigh.... no more football until August. I know, I know; I am so dramatic about this. But at least the NBA is interesting (not as much as it was when the Jordan-era was in full throttle), but what shall I do until the time being? Movies will do only much, Tiger's out trying to piece his life together, MLB only gets interesting in October, and I cannot get into NASCAR (can even barely understand the rules except they drive around a track for so long). Days like this I miss the AFL or the XFL. At least it would hold me over until August.

Genders Divided on Tiger's Apology: Mannie's opinion

I just got done reading an article about how genders are divided on Tiger's heartfelt apology about his infidelity. I am no what surprised about this, in fact why is everyone else? I mean, come on people, let's look at it this way: if YOUR Significant other cheated on you, would your friends completely bash him/her? Or would your friends be so compassionate, saying that he/she gave a heartfelt apology and give another chance? That how society works if you haven't noticed ever since you have been on this great Earth. It's not shocking that the male and female opinion is so divided. Tiger will get the male support because he stood up on t.v., admitted his fault, and asking for another chance. Tiger will NOT get the female support because the majority of them look at Tiger as the lying cheating bastard, another sport figure who cheated on his wife. In all, Mr. Woods has a long road ahead, and for him to get back on his feet, he is going to need the support from everybody to move on from this ordeal.

WOW!!

I am such a game geek.... ^_^

While I was out, I went by my little video game store called "Video Game Underground"
as I was leaving the store, at his counter stood these 2 energy drinks; Mana and Energy.
Now for those who are video game junkies, this is pretty much from the a knock off from the World of Warcraft game. Check out the website!!

Letter To T.W.

Dear Tiger,

What's going on bro? It seems you have been the center of attention because of your infidelity. We all know what you did was wrong, but why come out this Friday with a public apology? We should have all expected an apology like months ago!! But who can blame you for coming out now publicly; you were pretty much in sex rehab (I never thought something like that is remotely possible; I rather have you just admit you were stupid instead of going to some type of expensive rehab or even marriage counseling) and trying to save your marriage. But in my honest opinion, nobody is perfect. We can go through a long list of famous political people and we can expose them for all the cheating they have done, especially the one in the men's bathroom stall. But I guess the world doesn't see it like that. You are still the number 1 golfer in the world, and still a threat to anybody on the golf course.

I'm still shock of how much slack you will get when you come out and apologize for your actions back in December '09. Should we judge you for your transgressions? Maybe that is something you should think about as you try to win the heart of your fans and your sponsors. But lets instead of them judging you because of your "cheating heart", lets look at what you have done for the community:

-The Tiger Woods Foundation - established in 1996; It focuses on projects for children. Initially these comprised golf clinics (aimed especially at disadvantaged children), and a grant program

- In the City Golf Clinic and Festivals - Since 1997, the Tiger Woods Foundation has conducted junior golf clinics across the country.
- Tiger Woods Learning Center - This is a 35,000-square-foot (3,300 m2) educational facility in Anaheim, California which opened in February 2006. It is expected to be used by several thousand students each year in grades 4 to 12. The center features seven classrooms, extensive multi-media facilities and an outdoor golf teaching area.

- Let's not forget the donations you gave to Haiti to help the victims of the earthquake.

As I said before that people won't look at it that way. So let me close this letter by telling you this; I know it was a mistake(a bone-headed mistake), and hopefully it won't happen again. And before the public goes "Tiger-Bashing" Friday, say this: "He that is without sin, cast the first stone."

With Love

Mannie

SMDH..

You know something, I have a huge pet peeve. One of my colleagues sent me a link to a Dallas Cowboys Hater Club that is featured on the ever so popular Facebook. And it AMAZES me that someone will go through the rings of hell to make it their priority to "hate" on the 'Boys down in Texas. We know that we have our agenda on what team is #1 in the NFL, but is it that serious to just blast a team based on their past performance? So we took a beating against the Vikings in the playoffs, I can guarantee that majority of these so called DCHC probably didn't make the playoffs or were put out in the first round of this year playoffs. But I will not be a bitter "Cowboys" fan about what other opinion of their own. As a matter of fact, they have their right to be mad at the most successful football franchise in the history of the NFL. They were not dubbed "America's team" by choice, it was a given title to those who love/hate this team. I am a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan and I will love my team until I leave this beautiful earth. I will support my team through the hard times (look how dedicated the Lions, Raiders, and Browns fans...), and the good times. So I salute you to the haters of this team, because you have shown that in spite of your hate, you admire this team. And for all of us die hard Cowboys fans, keep your faith; that sixth ring will be in our grasp.

Just a thought...

Ya know something, do me a favor. You see that person across the room, or whoever it is, give them a hug and tell how you feel about them. You never know how important a person is in your life until they are taken away. Nothing didn't bad happen to me, just thought I would give out some words of encouragement to those who are looking for a way to express themselves to others.

Letter to Usher

Dear Usher

What was the reason for you wearing this outfit? Come on Bruh, let me know if you were auditioning for a new "Blade" Musical or something and you didn't have time to change your clothes. Lets get something straight, did you or did the stylist pick this out for you (Save face and say the stylist pick it out). So you never objected to this? For that you have got a lot of nicknames for this which includes:

-Ghetto Batman
-Dancing Blade
-Black Robin??

Great fashion touch, Usher! From the leather chest plate, to the nice gloves, and the capris, son! Matching with the boots! I'm a fan of your music but you have to get this in your head: Just say NO..

With Love,

Mannie

I'm BAAAAAAACKK!!

Well I wasn't gone that long but I will have a new feature which is called "Letters from Mannie" and a T-shirt Monday. I will display a new T-shirt that I will purchase and wear, no matter how obscene or crazy it will look! If you have a T-shirt that you would like for me to wear, let me know! But its good to be back and back to blogging (I promise I will keep up this time!)
